Davis Law Library
Discover New Zealand’s largest law library, with its impressive collection of approximately 130,000 printed volumes and access to an extensive range online legal resources.
The Davis Law Library’s collection includes New Zealand and other Common Law jurisdictions – Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States. The international law collection includes an extensive range print and online databases.
The library’s law databases are available to University students and staff, and provide access to a wide range of case law, legislation, journals, commentaries and ebooks. Major legal databases available include Lexis Advance, Westlaw International, Westlaw NZ, and
Student Facilities and Training
Learning and Teaching Advisors are available and offer assistance and research consultations for students.
If enrolled you’ll have access to these services:
- Print and ebook collections
- Borrowing and interlibrary loan services
- Subject guides recommending resources and library databases
- Intercampus Library Delivery Service (ICLDS)
- Study and group discussion facilities
- Photocopying, scanning and printing facilities.
Bell Gully Computer Laboratory
A training facility for electronic legal research within the Davis Law Library, which has 15 computers, a data projector, video and sound equipment. You’re welcome to use the laboratory for research when it is not needed for training.
There are 17 computers on Level 2 of the Davis Law Library for student research, and printing facilities. Additionally, you can bring your laptop and use our Wi-Fi for internet access.
A computer suite with 29 computers for law student research and writing, situated on the mezzanine floor of the Davis Law Library. Scanning and printing facilities are provided.
If you are a postgraduate law student, you will be able to access to online legal databases remotely or use the library computers. There is a study area for postgraduates within the Davis Law Library.
