Welcome from the Associate Dean Equity
The Auckland Law School is committed to maintaining and promoting an inclusive, supportive and safe environment for staff and students from all backgrounds.
Equity in our faculty
Welcome to the Equity page. As Associate Dean Equity, I work together with many colleagues, especially the University's Equity Office, the Associate Deans Māori and Pasifika, the Law School Equity Group, and the AULSS Equity Officer, to promote and monitor adherence to the University’s Equity policies for staff and students.
The Law School values diversity and is committed to equity and inclusion. As part of that commitment, I administer programmes to foster a diverse, supportive, inclusive, and safe community and to support and encourage students from underrepresented backgrounds. This includes implementing and continuously improving our policies that promote equal opportunities for all, working to prevent harassment and sexual misconduct, and empowering our students to become leaders in the law, public service, and civic life.
Auckland Law School is committed to attracting the strongest students from all walks of life and widening its intake of students from diverse backgrounds. Our targeted admissions and support schemes for Māori and Pasifika students, students with disabilities, students from low socio-economic backgrounds, and students from refugee backgrounds are an important part of maintaining and improving our vibrant community.
