Meet Emma, our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator
Emma is an outgoing and achievement-oriented fitness professional, with more than 25 years' proven success in the health & fitness industry. She is extremely passionate about what she does and believes in helping people achieve their goals by educating, inspiring and helping motivate them to not only reach their health & wellbeing goals but how to also maintain this.
Her journey of learning about wellbeing began while working as a personal trainer many years ago, where she found the most value to clients came from the talks & discussions she had with them around what was happening in their lives and the effect this had on their fitness & health.
Emma believes that it is not only the physical workouts that contribute to achieveing ones fitness and wellbeing goals, it also comes from advice and education around scheduling, eating healthy, routines, stress management and much more. These factors make up the physical, social and mental aspects of wellbeing which brings us here today!
What does health and wellbeing mean?
What is the definition of 'Health and wellbeing'?
Health can be defined as physical, mental, and social wellbeing, and as a resource for living a full life. It refers not only to the absence of disease, but the ability to recover and bounce back from illness and other problems.
Why is wellbeing important for health?
Feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health of an individual, enabling you to successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what you want out of life.

Equity at the university
We align closely with a number of teams across campus which includes the Equity Office.
The equity team leads the University of Auckland's commitment to be a safe, inclusive and equitable place to study and work.
