Boat Club (AUBC)

The Auckland University Boat Club (AUBC) represents the University of Auckland in Rowing. It has a proud history of many titles and has the distinction of being one of the first clubs in New Zealand to provide women’s rowing.

AUBC is one of the most prominent clubs at the University of Auckland, winning AUSA Sports Club of the Year in 2012, and AUSA Sports Club and Premier Club of the year in 2011.

AUBC caters for all levels of ability, whether you have never rowed before (Novice), rowed at club or high school level or even if you have rowed in an RPC or in the NZ team. Olympic single sculls champion Mahe Drysdale started his rowing career at the University of Auckland!

We train out of the Auckland Rowing Club at Ian Shaw Park, Panama Road, Otahuhu about 3-4 times per week in our Novice/Intermediate squads and more if you are in our top crews. We compete in a number of University regattas throughout the year. As well as training and racing, we also have some pretty fun social events too! (work hard, play hard).

Our training schedule is much less demanding than a high school rowing program so for those of you who have rowed in high school don't be scared to join...
