Kate Edger Information Commons (Building 315) at City Campus available for students to use 24/7.

Overview

From Monday 16 August, the Kate Edger Information Commons (Building 315) on the City Campus will be available for students to use 24/7. This pilot project will run until the end of Semester Two 2021 and will include public holidays and semester breaks.

Students can use their Campus Cards to access this space, with card access  applying between midnight to 7am on weekdays and midnight to 8am on weekends. A card reader is installed at Level 0 for this access.

Pilot project information

This pilot project was initiated following feedback from staff and students who asked for greater access to study spaces beyond those hours currently offered to undergraduate students in University buildings.

This pilot will give students access to 98 computers and group study spaces for up to 260 people. There is potential to open up other levels of the building if there is demand. Retail services will not be offered for the trial, but Campus Life will consider providing vending machines based on the demand and use of the space.

IT support will not be available during these after hours. However, on-call security will be available.
