"With multiple learning impairments, I was very nervous about coming to the University of Auckland. I was particularly worried about trying to keep up with my peers. I didn’t know if I would be able to make it in such a fast-paced and pressured learning environment.
Throughout my time at University I have felt incredibly supported by the staff at Student Disability Services. They have organised the extra time and separate room allocations I require for all my tests and exams. I’ve also had assistance with a hearing aid in lectures and with note-takers during the last year of my undergraduate degree.
“The assistance I’ve received from Student Disability Services has enabled me to complete my undergraduate degree and progress to postgraduate studies. I’m now studying towards a Masters degree, majoring in nutrition and dietetics. I continue to receive support and assistance from Student Disability Services."
