Who SDS supports
Part of the Equity Office, Student Disability Services (SDS) provides support for students with a wide range of impairments, both visible and invisible.
- Blind and low vision.
- Deaf and hearing-impaired.
- Head injury.
- Medical conditions.
- Mental health conditions.
- Physical or mobility impairments.
- Speech impairments.
- Temporary impairments.
- Specific learning disabilities.
You will need to provide us with relevant medical or professional evidence.
Advice and advocacy
We can assist departments with advice on how to access a range of specialist equipment such as adaptive technology and specialist services such as New Zealand Sign Language Interpreters. We also offer advice to staff about assisting students with impairments.
