Type 2 diabetes, exercise, and heart function in adults

We are seeking volunteers from 35 to 80 years old who are healthy, or have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and living with the condition for between six months and ten years, to participate in a research study.

Participation in this study will involve attending three two-hour testing sessions to assess heart function and exercise capacity. For adults aged 50 years and older with and without type 2 diabetes, your heart function and exercise capacity will be reassessed after a 12 week exercise training programme.

This study will increase our understanding of how type 2 diabetes affects heart function and exercise capacity with aging and in response to exercise training.
