The University is surveying teaching staff to understand more about the experience of teaching on courses and/or supervising research students during the shift to 'emergency remote teaching' in Semester One/Quarter Two 2020.  The survey is anonymous.

The link will go live on 29 June.  When you click on the link you will be asked to sign-in with your University username and password.  This is for access purposes only.

Who

The survey is open to all staff who taught on a course or supervised postgraduate research during Semester One/Quarter Two 2020.  This includes part-time, contract and casual staff.

A link to the survey will be communicated to faculties and LSRIs and is available here. When you click on the link you will be asked to sign-in with your University username and password.  This is for access purposes only.

What

Whakaaroaro Reflect - survey on the experiences of teachers and postgraduate research supervisors during Semester One/Quarter Two 2020.

Why

The University would like feedback from teaching staff to understand their experiences in Semester One/Quarter Two 2020.  This feedback will be carefully analysed and will feed into the Business Recovery Programme as well as strategic planning.

When will the survey open?

The survey opens on Monday 29 June.  Look for an announcement on the staff intranet or via your faculty.

Who is invited to complete the survey?

All staff who taught or tutored on a course (including part-time, contract and casual staff), and/or who supervised a postgraduate research student may take the survey.

When you click on the link you will be asked to sign-in with your University username and password.  This is for access purposes only.

How long does it take to complete the survey?

The survey can be completed in 10-15 minutes. 

Why should I participate?

The survey is voluntary.  However, the University community has worked, taught and learned in very difficult and challenging circumstances in Semester One/Quarter Two 2020 and this is an opportunity to reflect on and feed back to the University your thoughts about your experience. The views of staff are critical as the University advances its Business Recovery Programme and plans for the future. 

Are my results confidential?

Responses are anonymous and response data will be securely stored.

How do I access the survey?

The survey link will be distributed widely and announcements about the survey will go up on the staff intranet.  You may also access the link on this web-page. When you click on the link you will be asked to sign-in with your University username and password.  This is for access purposes only.

Will I get a chance to provide written comments?

Yes.  The survey has several questions for which you may provide written comments.

Will I get a chance to see the results?

A summary report will be made available to the University community.  Faculty-level reports will be prepared and distributed.
