Prasadi Jayasekara – PhD in Information Systems

Prasadi Jayasekara entered the SGS Research Showcase in 2021 to share her work with the wider community. She says the Pecha Kucha category allowed her to show her creative side along with her research.

Prasadi Jayasekara won the first ever Pecha Kucha category of the SGS Research Showcase, with her presentation: 'Exploring home gardeners’ adoption and use of social media for agricultural information searching and sharing'.

“As a researcher, I believe I should use every available opportunity to share my research with the wider community. So, I got involved in the SGS Research Showcase because it was a great place to share my work with other research scholars and see what they are doing.

“The Pecha Kucha Category introduced in the SGS Research Showcase 2021 was totally new to me. It was pretty challenging and interesting to present my research using six slides, with 20 seconds per slide. Pecha Kucha allowed me to show my creative side along with presenting my research."

I think the SGS Research Showcase is a great place to show your research communication skills in creative ways.
