Problems with your student ID card

Find out what to do about lost, stolen, faulty and expired student ID cards.

Lost cards

If you lose your ID card, please check with the staff at one of our ID card centres to see if it’s been handed in.

If it hasn’t, you’ll need to complete the AS-13 Request for an ID Card Form (see below), and bring it to one of our ID card centres.

Note:

  • If the photo we have on record is more than two years old, we’ll need to take a new one.
  • Please allow 24 hours for your new card to work when using services such as the photocopy machines.
  • If you find your old card after receiving your new card, you won’t be able to use the old one.

Cost

  • You’ll be charged a $20 replacement fee, which must be paid before your replacement ID card will be issued.

Found cards

If you find someone else’s ID card, please drop it into one of our ID card centres.

Stolen cards

If your card has been stolen, complete the AS-13 Request for an ID Card Form (below) and bring it into one of our ID card centres.

Note:

  • If the ID photo we have on record is more than two years old, we’ll need to take a new one.
  • Please allow 24 hours for your new card to work when using services such as the photocopy machines.

Cost

  • You can get a free replacement if you provide evidence that you’ve filed an official police report. (A complaint acknowledgement from the police may be acceptable at the discretion of our staff.)

If you’re unable to provide an official police report, you may be charged a $20 replacement fee.

Faulty cards

If there’s a physical problem with the card itself, please bring it into one of our ID card centres.

Cost

  • We’ll repair or replace malfunctioning cards free of charge. If your card has been wilfully damaged or damaged through negligence, you’ll be charged the $20 replacement fee.

Library access problems

  • If there’s a problem with your library access, contact the Library.

Card expiry

  • Your card is valid for six years, while you’re enrolled. For example, a card issued on 20 March 2010 will expire on 20 March 2016.
  • If you want to retain your library access beyond this timeframe, you’ll need to get a new card issued prior to the expiry date.
  • If your card has expired, you can get a new ID card from one of our ID card centres.
  • If your photo on record is more than two years old, a new one will be taken.
