Direct Loans for international students
Direct Loan information for US Study Abroad or Exchange students; and US full-degree students at the University of Auckland.
Students from the United States attending a Study Abroad or Exchange programme at the University of Auckland:
As a foreign institution, the University of Auckland is not authorised to certify student loans or deferments for US students who plan to attend this University for a semester or for a one-year study abroad or exchange experience.
The Financial Aid Coordinator at the University of Auckland will complete a consortium agreement with your home university so the financial aid office at your home university can process your financial aid application.
US students enrolled in a full degree programme at the University of Auckland are eligible to receive Direct Loans through the University of Auckland:
- You pay tuition and fees to the University of Auckland
- You apply for Direct Loans following the University of Auckland procedures
Important!
The US Department of Education regulations stipulate that you can receive Direct Loans while studying overseas only if you attend a school that participates in the Direct Loan programme.
