Coco Du

Coco is studying towards a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland China Learning Centre in Nanjing University of Science and Technology (Jiangyin campus).

“I decided to enrol in the University of Auckland China Learning Centre at NJUST because I wanted a study environment where I could meet teachers and friends in person, instead of just studying online through Zoom.

“My future career goal is to set up my own trading company doing business with other countries. That is why I chose Management and International Business as my majors for the Bachelor of Commerce. One day I want to be a millionaire!”

I have enjoyed studying at the China Learning Centre so far. I am in love with the environment, the facilities, and the people here.

“I have enjoyed studying at the China Learning Centre so far. I am in love with the environment, the facilities, and the people here. One main highlight for me is that I got a part-time job at the school café, which is something I really enjoy. I help cook the food for the students, and I find myself busy but enriched.

“I love being able to hang out with my friends, go to the library together to study, or enjoy a shared meal. The staff here make a big effort to ensure that we are comfortable living on campus and happy, so I really appreciate that.

“I definitely intend to continue my studies at the University of Auckland China Learning Centre next year. I find it more efficient studying at NJUST compared to at home, and most of my friends will come back too so I am getting that real university experience here with people on the same wavelength.

“My advice for future international students would be to open yourself up to opportunities and never be shy to show your personality. Go out of your comfort zone and be brave.”
