Study Buddies

We know how challenging online study and being away from our New Zealand campus can be. 

Our lovely Study Buddies are here to keep you company and stay in regular contact with you. Whether you would like to hear about what's happening on campus, ask us questions or just have someone to chat to, our Study Buddies are here to help you get through studying online. It's a great way to stay connected with the University and make a friend in the process.

Can my Study Buddy give me course advice or help with my assignments? 

Your Study Buddy is unable to provide course advice or help you with your assignments. If you have any questions regarding lecture or tutorial content, please get in touch with your lecturer or course coordinator. 

Your Study Buddy is here to check in on how your classes are going, and help with any general questions you may have.

Will my Study Buddy be in the same class as me? 

We try our best to pair you with a Study Buddy in the same faculty as you, however this is not always possible. It is likely your Buddy may not be in the same class as you, but they are still here to chat and answer any questions you may have! 

Can I have a Study Buddy if I am currently in New Zealand? 

No - this initiative is only available for international students who are currently studying overseas. 

If you are in New Zealand and have been approved to study online by your faculty, you are welcome to request for a Study Buddy. 

How will my Study Buddy get in contact with me? 

Our Buddies will be in touch sometime between 2pm and 5.30pm NZST. They can contact you through a range of channels such as phone, email or zoom, dependent on which you prefer. Once your Study Buddy contacts you, you can discuss how often you would like to be contacted and your preferred time.
