Stimulates new ways of thinking about enterprising behaviour in a multi-disciplinary manner relevant to understanding and addressing real world challenges of today. Introduces skills needed to identify and assess opportunities, solve problems creatively, communicate persuasively, work effectively in teams, and understand individual and organisational impact.

Prerequisite: 15 points from BUSINESS 102, 103, 112, 113, MGMT 101, or 90 points passed, or 60 points from Part I of the BE(Hons) Schedule.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the key characteristics of the entrepreneurial mindset including skills, values, behaviours, and enterprising contexts.
  2. Describe the characteristics of entrepreneurial mindsets in others, and the contexts in which they operate, and discuss your reactions to their stories. 
  3. Reflect on the characteristics of your own entrepreneurial mindset and identify how to develop your own mindset further. 
  4. Apply the concepts and frameworks that underlie the entrepreneurial mindset, in a team situation, to generate ideas, solve problems, explore opportunities, and offer and communicate a solution to a pre-defined wicked problem that is social or environmental in nature.
