KOREAN 110G Korean for Beginners 1

This course aims to foster beginners' active learning of basic spoken and written skills in modern Korean, and important aspects of Korean culture related to Korean language. Students are expected to acquire key grammar and vocabulary knowledge through viewing the recorded lectures and to actively participate in tutorial activities to enhance their Korean language skills. By the end of the course, successful students will be able to carry out a conversation on simple topics of daily life, to comprehend simple Korean texts and to write about their own everyday life at a basic level.

Restriction: KOREAN 100, 250. May not be taken if a more advanced language acquisition course in this subject has previously been passed.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

1. Comprehend simple Korean texts.
2. Comprehend spoken Korean at a basic level.
3. Write about their own everyday life at a basic level.
4. Carry out conversations on simple topics of daily life.
5. Develop a basic understanding of Korean culture related to the Korean language.
6. Participate in simple conversation with native Korean.
   

By enrolling in a General Education language course you are declaring that you have no previous knowledge or study in the language. The University may cancel your enrolment in this course at any time in the semester if you are found to have prior knowledge or study in the language. Further assessment of your language ability may be required and your enrolment may be changed if found to be at a higher level than is permitted for General Education language courses.
