CDES and COVID-19! Find out how to access our services throughout the different lockdown levels.

See you on campus - or online - in 2021!

Depending on the changes to alert levels, CDES will be providing our services accordingly. This means operating either virtually, in person or a mixture of both. Find below how you can access all of our services, depending on our lockdown level!

Alert Levels 2– 4: How we work.

From alert levels 2 - 4, our services will be available online only. Please see below for detailed information on how to access these.

Please also note that some events may have to be rescheduled to a later date or cancelled completely. We will do our best to ensure that all of our services are accessible virtually and if we do have to cancel/postpone, we will notify you via email and on our social media platforms as soon as we can. 

One-on-one appointments

These are bookable online and will be held via zoom by our Career Development Consultants (CDCs). There is no change to how you book these, and all additional info is listed in MyCDES.

Daily drop-in

This is available each day, via Zoom from 3-3.45pm. No need to book, you literally just drop into our Zoom room at the times above and meet with one of our CDCs.They will review your CV and cover letter, right then and there.

Did you know: CVs and cover letters can also be submitted for review via the online CV check in MyCDES.

Workshops

Our Workshop schedule is published every week on our Facebook and Instagram page, and you’ll also find them listed on MyCDES as either ‘On-campus’ or ‘Online’. Please register online, or via Zoom link in the workshop description.

Career Chats

CDES recognises how much screen time is required for your studies, so we’ve re-introduced our 30 minute career chats, on selected topics, which will supplement our workshops. These chats, hosted by graduate employers and Career Development Consultants, will provide you with key tips and the opportunity to have your questions answered live. Check out MyCDES for information and to register.

MyCDES Online resources

We’ve added more great topics (including ‘Rethinking Your Career Direction!) to our library of career resources, to help you get ready for the world of work. You can find these in MyCDES, in the Resource Library.

Employer events

We will work with employers to ensure they can still engage with you during the higher alert levels. Make sure you check individual event descriptions for further details and we will email you the virtual event link closer to the event – make sure you register for all events you want to attend.

Alert Level 1: How we work!

Our services will be available both in-person and online. You can either drop in and see us from 8.30am – 4.30pm; Monday-Friday, at Room 151, Level 1, Kate Edger Information Commons, or head over to MyCDES and pick and choose the resources and services you want to access.
