FNZ Intern Profile
Meet FNZ at the 2019 CDES Internship Career Expo on 1 August!
- University of Auckland student
- Computer Science
What is it like working for your organisation and was it what you expected or was it different?
Working for FNZ is a challenging but very rewarding experience. Not only has my software development experience and knowledge greatly increased (and it continues to do so), but my understanding of the financial services industry has also.
What advice would you give to students wanting to take part in an internship/graduate programme?
Aside from the obvious advice that is always mentioned, I would give the following recommendation: always be developing and improving your soft skills. The knowledge from your degree is vastly important, but if you can’t confidently communicate that knowledge and interact successfully with the necessary people, then the value of that knowledge diminishes significantly.
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years’ time?
Continuing to develop software with greater skill and competency, as well as managing other developers.
