Graduate Diploma in Architectural Studies

A pathway programme for those with an architecture, interior architecture or spatial design related undergraduate degree to gain entry into one of our suite of professional masters programmes.

Programme overview

The Graduate Diploma in Architectural Studies (GradDipAS) provides a pathway for tertiary graduates from related disciplines interested in studying architecture at an advanced level. The programme broadens knowledge and skill in architecture to prepare graduates for study in our suite of masters programmes.

Programme structure

The GradDipAS comprises courses from the Bachelor of Architectural Studies to allow you to broaden your knowledge and understanding of both the practical and theoretical elements of architecture. These courses will also enable you to address and critically engage with areas of architectural enquiry that you will have otherwise not covered.

The subject areas covered within the GradDipAS are: Design, Technology, Media, Professional Studies, and History, Theory and Criticism. The GradDipAS will, depending on your prior academic studies, be structured as either a 150 point or 120 point programme that will be split across these areas:

  • Architectural Technology: 60 points
  • Architectural Professional Studies: 15 points

  • Architectural History, Theory, and Criticism: 15 points
