This masters programme provides specialised training for professional translators who are well attuned to today’s global industry requirements.
You can gain the practical skills and knowledge required to work in translation and related fields of intercultural communication. You will use cutting-edge professional tools to translate software, websites and audiovisual content.
Courses consist of lectures and practical laboratory sessions where you will have the opportunity to interact with industry professionals.

- You must have completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) or equivalent with a GPA of 5.0 or higher, or a Bachelor of Arts or equivalent with a GPA of 5.0 or higher in 45 points above Stage II (equivalent to above B2 in CEFR), or a relevant professional qualification and five years of professional experience.
- You must have competence in one of the languages offered for the MTrans (Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish) other than English, equivalent to at least the level of a B+ grade in a language course at Stage III (equivalent to at least C1 level in CEFR).
- If you have not undertaken tertiary study in your chosen language you will need to sit a language test to demonstrate your competence.
- If you are not a native speaker of English and have not had at least three years of tertiary education with English as the language of instruction, you will need a minimum overall score of IELTS (Academic) 7 or equivalent.
