Programme overview

The Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Governance is designed for working professionals seeking to develop their leadership in governance roles across a range of corporate, public sector, community and indigenous enterprise contexts.

You will be equipped with in-depth knowledge of contemporary perspectives, practices, mindsets and issues related to leadership in governance in the New Zealand context. You will develop confidence to undertake leadership within, through and from governance activity. You will also be effective in solving complex organisational, system and societal challenges.

Courses will be taught using an interactive and experiential pedagogy. Delivery will be blended and revolve around a block course model with two workshops of three and two days, respectively, spread across three weeks supplemented by virtual resources and formats. Students will be engaged in activities that will develop their disciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, collaborative skills, and solution-seeking behaviours. The interactive delivery will be led by lecturers and practitioners with current or recent business and industry experience.

This programme is available to domestic students only and for part-time study only.

Please note that the next start date for this programme is Quarter 3, 2024.
