Obstetrics and Gynaecology


The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences offers a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (Women's Health) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology, which are aimed at improving the standard of obstetric and gynaecological care provided by general practitioners working in the community.

Areas of study

Courses cover early pregnancy screening, common antenatal problems, who should care for whom in pregnancy and why, should caesarean section be available on demand, current contraception, managing common menstrual problems, HRT use, and incontinence.

The faculty also offers two postgraduate courses in the area of reproductive science: Reproductive Science (MEDSCI 730) and Advanced Reproductive Biology (MEDSCI 731).
