Areas of Study

You can study contemporary dance and choreography and the physiology of dance movements. Other areas of study include the history and contexts of dance and dance in the community. You will also develop your skills in talking and writing about dance.

You can learn about different dance forms and techniques. You will also examine different dance genres from various viewpoints: aesthetic, cultural, social and physical. We are also interested in the role of dance within the community.

Career opportunities

You will graduate with cross-disciplinary and transferrable skills that will give you the flexibility to create your own pathways, and move into specialised work such as choreography, dance journalism, dance education, dance therapy, community dance and academic research.
