Ranga Auaha Ako | Learning and Teaching Design Team
Ranga Auaha Ako works in partnership and collaboration with faculties and Libraries and Learning Services to deliberately and purposefully plan and design high quality learning experiences. Access to Ranga Auaha Ako’s specialised learning design support is facilitated by a governance group process overseen by the Provost. Faculties with support from Ranga Auaha Ako work to identify priority course and programme (re)design projects that emerge from the Academic Quality and strategic planning processes.
The scope of learning design spans the spectrum, from the development of individual tasks and materials, to the sequence of content delivery, assessment design, the use of technology and learning spaces, as well as its evaluation both for individual courses and across curricula.
Effective learning design represents a sustainable approach to learning and teaching as it builds the capacity of academics to design quality learning and teaching, supports the sharing of approaches and principles, and enhances the ability of academics to articulate and share pedagogies within their communities of practice.
