English language requirements
The University of Auckland sets standards for English Language proficiency for admission to the University for international applicants.
All applicants whose first language is not English will be required to provide satisfactory evidence of their proficiency in English. This could take the form of an acceptable IELTS or TOEFL score.

Postgraduate applicants who have a conditional offer from The University of Auckland may be considered for entry to the Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP) or the 12 week fast track EAP programme at The University of Auckland English Language Academy (ELA).* For both programmes, students who gain a B-/B/B+ grade are deemed to have achieved an IELTS equivalency of 6.5 and students who gain an A-/A/A+ grade are deemed to have achieved an IELTS equivalency of 7.0.
