The Performance Based Research Fund (PBRF)

This is how the New Zealand Government assesses research output and quality, and allocates research funding to tertiary institutions. Three measures determine how the funding is apportioned: i) Quality evaluation.  ii) Research degree completions. iii) External research income. In the latest round in 2006 The University of Auckland had 200 of the 600 A-rated researchers in the country.
