Juliana Kapi - Social work
Social work masters student Juliana is choosing to champion the health and wellbeing of Aoteoroa’s children.
“I want to become a social worker because I’m passionate about ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to grow and develop in the best possible way.”
“I enrolled in the MSW(Prof) because it provides the best pathway towards achieving my goals. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Social Sciences and Criminology. With this masters degree I’ll be able to pursue a career in social work and also gain a postgraduate degree.
“I chose to study at the University of Auckland because it has an outstanding reputation and a qualification from here will definitely help with my future career.
“I’ve particularly enjoyed the practicum experience and experiencing first-hand what it is like to be a social worker. I was able to identify my strengths and capabilities and, more importantly, to critically reflect on the skills that I still need as an emerging social worker. These realisations will enable me to become more prepared to face the challenges in this line of work.
“I hope to specialise in the care and protection of children in Aotearoa New Zealand.”
