In her inaugural lecture, Professor Kool shared her academic journey that began with a 20-year career in nursing before a chance encounter changed her path from a clinical to an academic one. She reflected on the many people who have supported her and the opportunities that have helped shape her career, and along the way weaves in examples of her research as an injury epidemiologist.
