Understanding Standing in Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS)

Researchers are undertaking a study to better see the impact of POTS on the structure, function, and regulation of the heart and blood vessels.

What's involved?

Participation involves a 1 hour screening visit and two experimental visits (1.5 and 3 hours) at the University of Auckland, Grafton Campus.

The experimental visits will involve four key non-invasive measurements of cardiovascular functions.

Please read the participant information sheet to learn more about the study and the details for each experimental visit.

In recognition of your participation in this study, you will receive a $50 voucher per experimental visit.

Eligibility criteria

We are inviting two groups of people to participate in this study:

  • People clinically diagnosed with POTS
  • People without POTS

All participants must be over the age of 18.
