You can choose from a range of courses which study communication, film, television and media from diverse approaches — theoretical, aesthetic and historical — and complete your own research project.
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) also includes research training that can be an advantage for future careers or provide preparation for more advanced postgraduate research.
Entry requirements
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media and Screen Studies
A BA or Bachelor of Global Studies with a major or specialisation in Communication or Media and Screen Studies. You must have a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher in 45 points above Stage II in the major.
The following subjects may also be considered for entry: Journalism.
Master of Arts
120-point (one-year) MA in Media and Screen Studies
A BA(Hons) or PGDipArts in Communication or Media and Screen Studies, with a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher. The research masters has higher requirements.
The following subjects may also be considered for entry: Journalism.
180-point (18-month) MA in Media and Screen Studies
A BA with a major or specialisation in Communication or Media and Screen Studies, or approval of the Head of School or nominee. You must have a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher in 75 points above Stage II including at least 45 points in the major.
The following subjects may also be considered for entry: Journalism.
