Goldie Estate Vineyard
Our working vineyard on Waiheke Island provides Wine Science students with an opportunity to live, study, and work in a boutique winery.
In July 2011, the Goldwater family gifted Goldie Vineyard and its related wine business to the University for use as a Wine Science teaching facility.
The 14-hectare vineyard is planted in classical varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay.
The attached homestead offers accommodation for students on the Island, with lectures held in the winery building itself.
Alongside the vineyard are areas of bush and wetland that provide valuable habitats for many native plant and bird species.
