Thinking of coming to University? Then you have certainly come to the right place. New Start is a part-time university preparation and bridging programme which helps you take that first step into The University of Auckland.
What is New Start?
New Start is designed for those over 20 years or older without university entrance who need to gain skills and confidence to undertake university study. If you would like to study at university the New Start programme is a great place to begin.
You can choose between three different programmes:
- New Start General prepares you for a university degree, diploma or certificate in Arts, Education, Law, Science or Theology
- New Start for Business prepares you for a degree in Business Information Management, Commerce or Property
- Introduction to Postgraduate Study prepares you for a return to university study if you wish to pursue a postgraduate qualification.
New Start enables you to:
- Assess your academic ability and improve your skills
- Study part-time on day or evening courses
- Discover what university is all about
- Gain an insight into subjects to make an informed choice for further study
- Meet experienced university lecturers and tutors.
You can successfully complete New Start in one semester then apply for admission in the following semester to a degree, diploma or certificate at The University of Auckland.
Your New Start experience will open your mind to a range of subjects and help you plan your university study.
