Career Leaders
Career Leaders is a Business School club working with the University of Auckland Business School Careers Centre.
Services
Career leaders are trained by the Business School Careers Centre. We help students develop career and employability skills alongside mentoring and providing career advice. Specifically we:
- Provide CV, cover letter, application form and LinkedIn profile checks (either in person at drop-in, or through our online check service)
- Promote connections between students and potential employers by organising and facilitating employer engagement activities, including networking events
- Host inclusive events cultivating employability skills for students across all academic levels, from undergraduates to PhD candidates
- Market and promote the Business School Careers Centre to students through targeted outreach, informative campaigns, and engaging activities
Location
You can find us in Careers Centre reception, on level 1 of OGGB (room 131). We are open during the semester, Mondays to Fridays from 12 to 2 pm. No booking is required, just drop by and see us!
Alternatively, you can use our online check service. We will review your documents and then email you feedback.

Junior Career Leaders
Junior Career Leaders are an integral part of the Career Leader team. You don’t need to have expertise in specific areas like business analytics, marketing or events management. All we require is an interest in the area and a willingness to contribute.
Teams you can join:
- Data and Analytics: Focus on report writing, generating insights and data analysis (you do not need technical coding expertise).
- Marketing: Engage in promotional activities, social media management, and creative campaigns.
- Events: Plan, organise, and execute various events and activities.
Not sure which team suits you? Join Career Leaders and contribute without being assigned to a specific team. This allows you to explore different areas and find where your interests and skills align best.
Regardless of your position, you will get the opportunity to participate by volunteering for Special Events, Drop-in and Online Checks.
Why should you join Career Leaders?
