What is a UniGuide?

UniGuides are current students who volunteer their time to welcome new students and assist in creating a positive academic and social transition to university life.

During the semester, your UniGuide mentor will provide guidance and support through giving you tips, letting you know about the different events and activities on campus and answering or following up on any questions you might have.

For Semester One 2013, nearly 300 UniGuides are currently serving as resources and mentors for over 2,400 new students.

During the semester, your UniGuide will provide guidance and support through:

  • Giving you tips.
  • Sending weekly UniGuide e-newsletters.
  • Letting you know about different activities on campus.
  • Answering or following up on any questions you might have.

How do I get a UniGuide?

You will be matched with a UniGuide and placed into small groups of new students from the same faculty on the first day of Orientation.

Afterwards, your UniGuide will show you around campus, answer any questions you might have, and organize fun activities for your group.
