Accommodation
The University offers several student accommodation options within the central city through its Accommodation Services. These include catered Halls of Residence and self-catered flats or apartments.
It is strongly recommended that you submit an Application for Accommodation by 1st November. After this date it may be difficult to place you in your preferred accommodation choice so it is recommended you apply even if you do not have confirmation of entry to the programme (note that you may withdraw your application for accommodation without penalty). For more information, please visit Accommodation Services.
If the University’s halls or flats/apartments are not for you, there are several private accommodation* options such as home-stays or flatting in the city or surrounding suburbs.
* Please note the University does not inspect or in any way guarantee the quality or availability of private accommodation.
If you are arriving in Auckland for the first time, and you have requested an airport pickup, you will be met by the airport transfer provider. A form requesting an airport transfer will be sent out in your offer pack – please ensure you complete this and return it by the required date.
In all cases, once you have settled in you should come to Auckland International and let us know that you have arrived. Staff at Auckland International will then advise you what to do next.
The costs of studying at The University of Auckland compares favourably with universities of similar standing in other countries where English is the medium of learning. In addition to tuition fees, international students will need about NZ$15,000 a year for accommodation** and day-to-day living expenses, including meals. For more information see the Cost of Living in Auckland.
