Low risk criteria
A low risk research project is one where there is a low risk of physical harm, psychological harm, exploitation or other potential adverse effect.
An example of a low risk application is an anonymous online questionnaire.
All applications are checked against the low risk criteria programmed into InfoEd (see download below). An application is considered low risk if all answers are 'no' to the questions on the checklist. If an application qualifies for low risk review, it will be pre-screened and then reviewed by UAHPEC. We aim to provide an outcome to the applicant within three weeks from the date of submission. If the application is not deemed low risk, it will be automatically put into the next available agenda for Full review.
NOTE: In all cases, the Committee decides whether an application is low risk and may determine that a low risk application is reviewed by the full Committee.
