Academic preparation

You may wish to refresh yourself on some of the First Year content, if you:

  • Are entering the MBChB as a graduate applicant
  • Didn't complete your undergraduate studies at the University of Auckland

For the Year 2 MBChB course, there is an assumption that you are familiar with:

  • Basic biochemistry
  • Cellular biology
  • Molecular biology
  • Organ system functions of the human body

If you haven't completed either the first year Bachelor of Health Sciences or Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) at the University of Auckland, you should do additional personal study during the summer period before the teaching begins.
