A practical introduction to computing that will build your confidence and familiarity with computers. The course has no prerequisites and does not require any special skills. By the end of the course, students should be able to navigate successfully in a Computer Science environment. The contents of the course (particularly the labs) help to boost the number of skills that students are able to list on their CVs.

  • Effective use of common applications
  • Using the internet as a communication medium
  • Applying programming concepts

As part of your practical work, you will create web pages, and use a variety of home and office applications including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and databases.
