Professor Graham Liggins Scholarship Fund

By donating to the Mont Liggins Scholarship Fund you will help us to support the next generation of ground-breaking researchers.

This year marks 50 years since the Institute’s namesake, Prof Sir Graham (Mont) Liggins, published his breakthrough scientific paper demonstrating that corticosteroid treatment of women at risk of preterm labour matures her baby’s lungs, significantly improving the baby’s ability to breathe after birth and so dramatically improving survival.  This treatment has revolutionised care for millions of preterm babies, with countless babies surviving who previously would have died. The Liggins Institute researchers continue to build on Mont’s legacy with world-class research that makes a difference for mothers and babies worldwide.
