The world is changing and so are recruiters. Gone are the days of linear career paths - your arts degree can open up so many opportunities, many of which you may have never considered! This series will see you take a deep dive to identify your skills that will be sure to make an impact on future employers. Then, you’ll take action; identifying jobs, employers, organisations and opportunities of interest to you.

Workshop details

This workshop has both an in-person and remote option.

Join our experienced CDES career consultant and academics from the Faculty of Arts for an interactive and fun virtual session where you’ll take a deep-dive into the wide variety of career paths you can take with your Arts degree. We understand everyone’s career aspirations are different, which is why you’ll leave with an action plan tailored to your personal career goals with specific next steps on how to get there.

Key areas for discussion will be:

  • Finding out what’s important to you in your future career
  • Identifying your skills and communicating these to future employers
  • Identifying your core values and what motivates you to apply for a job
  • Analysing your current skillset, and how to continue developing these to increase employability

Once you’ve identified your skills, now it’s time to put an action plan in place. To do this, we’ll step you through our online module so you can develop your own career action plan. In this module, you’ll:

  • Discover the numerous resources available to support your job search
  • Research the wide variety of arts jobs, employers, organisations and opportunities of interest to you
  • Create personalised next steps towards your own career and how you’ll get there
  • Identify how to make your skills stand out in applications, assessments and interviews

After you’ve completed the module, we encourage you to make an appointment with one our career consultants, who can discuss you action plan and provide coaching to move you forward.
