Guruh Sukarno Putra
Guruh studied a Bachelor of Education at Sriwijaya University in his home country of Indonesia before joining the University of Auckland to study a Masters in Educational Leadership.

“I was looking to study a programme that focused on improving education through a combination of leadership and professionalism. When I discovered the Master of Educational Leadership at the University, I knew I’d found the one!

“I love brainstorming and connecting ideas through reading. In my programme, the lecturers give us time to analyse the presented ideas, connect them through discussion and reflect on how those ideas can influence our current practices.

“The library is fantastic with a brilliant collection of both physical books and online databases to support your study. In addition, the University provides plenty of study space, computers, and printing and copying facilities.
“This programme has opened my eyes to the importance of leadership in education.
In Indonesia I worked at three different senior secondary schools. In the future, I would like to return there and continue my work as a teacher and a facilitator for professional learning.
