Learning outcomes

When you finish the course, you should be able to:

  • Understand the evolving political, social, economic, cultural, and strategic relations between New Zealand and Asia
  • Understand New Zealand’s efforts to re-position itself in relation to Asia
  • Understand the diversity of the Asian region
  • Understand current debates on globalisation, and on national and regional identity
  • Demonstrate basic academic skills such as data analysis, interpretation, and critical thinking
