The Scholarship was established in 2022 and is funded by The Marie Clay Literacy Trust.

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to support an international or domestic PhD student or domestic EdD student in the Faculty of Education and Social Work at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland undertaking research related to Reading Recovery.
