Postgraduate study in Paediatrics
What can you study in Paediatrics?
You can study Paediatrics in the Diploma in Paediatrics and Master of Health Sciences. Postgraduate level research in this subject is also available at the University’s Liggins Institute.
In the specialisation, the areas of study include:
- Child development
- Paediatric dermatology
- Neonatal resuscitation
- Paediatric rheumatology
- Youth health
- Child and adolescent mental health
This course will help students develop a range of essential skills for the clinical environment, and includes hands-on experience with community visits and clinical duties.
This diploma is for medical practitioners registered and working in New Zealand. Students are required to complete six months of paediatric training before the end of the study year.

• Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics (available in 2023)

• Master of Paediatrics (available from 2024)
