Eden Park and the University of Auckland
In early 2024, the University entered a three-year strategic partnership with Eden Park Trust to become its exclusive education and research partner, with a view to enhancing community outreach and creating mutually beneficial opportunities for research, teaching and learning.
Through this partnership, the University is developing a range of programmes across several key areas:
- Student and staff experiences
- Educational exchanges
- Research collaboration
- Student work experience
- Brand visibility (including the renaming of Eden Park’s North Stand to the 'University of Auckland North Stand')
- Civic and community engagement
The partnership also gives the University use of the Eden Park No. 1 Field for one day a year. In October 2024, we took advantage of this to host the 2024 National Tertiary Football Cup, in which teams from the University of Auckland, University of Canterbury and AUT competed for a chance to take on Australia’s top university and qualify for the 2025 FISU University World Cup.
Eden Park and the University have many shared values, and we are each equally committed to delivering benefits to the communities within which we operate.
