Te Aroha ki a Papatūānuku – Matariki Community Plantings

Grab your whānau (family) and friends and join us to celebrate Matariki by planting native trees and shrubs to restore the whenua (land).

Your hard work will help grow the urban ngahere (forest) of Tāmaki Makaurau and create new habitat for native birds and other wildlife.

Enjoy a free sausage sizzle afterwards your whanau (family) and friends; this is a great opportunity to connect with your community and learn more about what to plant at home.

Bring sturdy covered shoes, weather protection (sun or rain), bottled water and spades and gloves if you have them.

Help protect our parks from kauri dieback by ensuring you bring clean shoes and equipment.
