The University of Auckland lost a supporter and champion with the death of well-known Auckland philanthropist, Dame Rosie Horton, DNZM, QSO, QSM, on 14 May.

It is with sadness that the University learned of the death of alumnus and Chair of The University of Auckland Foundation, Geoff Ricketts CNZM on 10 March 2023.

Stuart McCutcheon was the University’s Vice-Chancellor and UniServices Chair from 2005 to March 2020, one of the longest tenures of New Zealand vice-chancellors.

Waipapa Taumata Rau, the University of Auckland was saddened to hear of the death of former Chancellor Sir Ian Barker, KC (1934 – 2022) on 11 November 2022.
