Soundtrack to your studies - 2007
Campus sounds from the 2000s.

Orientation was headlined by Juliette and the Licks in 2007. If you didn’t make it to the gig, you might be asking - who were they? Surprisingly, the answer is that the band is the musical project of the actor Juliette Lewis and so students got to see her up close at Shadows. O-week also had an impressive line-up of locals performing at the St James.

Shapeshifter were making a rapid ascent in popularity that year and also played the Big Day Out in NZ and across Australia. Tool were the headliners that year (along with Muse and The Killers). They ended up seeing Shapeshifter perform and were so impressed that they asked the band to support them at their show in Melbourne (as well as taking them out for dinner).
Meanwhile, over on the pop charts - the biggest selling single of that year was ‘Umbrella’ by Rihanna (feat Jay-Z).
