40 Under 40: Accelerate Your Career - photos and audio recordings

Bringing together students, recent graduates, and 40 Under 40 alumni past and present.

This year marked the inaugural 40 Under 40 event. Held at the Business School, the ‘Accelerate Your Career’ event celebrated and connected New Zealand-based 40 Under 40 alumni and gave them a chance to give back to help students and recent graduates plot their career journeys and develop mindsets needed for career success. The Vice-Chancellor and 40 Under 40 Alumnus Dan Walker welcomed guests and were followed by a panel discussion with three of this year’s 40 Under 40 - Nurain Janah, Sean Molloy, and Shruthi Vijayakumar. The panellists, led by alumnus and journalist Andrew Patterson, explored the theme of Future of Work 2.0 and navigating the ‘next normal’.

As well as celebrating success, the event provided opportunities for students and recent grads to mix and mingle with exceptional alumni and gain important career insights during six breakout sessions (see recording below) led by past and present 40 Under 40 alumni. From harnessing the power of creative thinking, to considering global citizenship, to how to create meaningful change, all that attended came away with practical advice on preparing for the future of work and inspiration to be the leaders of the future.

A huge thank you to all our alumni, staff, volunteers, and partners that made this event possible, and a special thanks to Career Development and Employability Services, Campus Life, and the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for their support.
