Donors, staff and friends of the Business School joined in a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the iconic Sir Owen G Glenn Building on 24 September.

Donors, staff and friends of the Business School joined in a celebration of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the iconic Sir Owen G Glenn Building on 24 September.

Dean of the Business School, Professor Jayne Godfrey, welcomed guests to the award-winning, purpose built space.

It is a place of light and learning, where business, academia and government come together to help shape the future of business in New Zealand.

Speakers included former Dean of the Business School, Emeritus Professor Barry Spicer, whose vision and hard work drove the planning, finance and construction of the building, the architects Archimedia and major donor Sir Owen G Glenn, whose name the building bears.

Sir Owen’s generous $7.5 million donation to the building’s construction was a turning point in the funding and development of the building, creating a groundswell of support that enabled the building’s completion.

At the celebration, Sir Owen announced his funding of new scholarships for up to 10 undergraduate students to spend a semester each at universities in the United States and China, along with a stint in Hong Kong.
